Things have worked themselves out for the better today but I expect there’s more change coming down the road. Here’s the deal, I am generally the constant and stuff happens to the people around me and I’m okay with that. If life was a movie, I’m the best friend, the co-star, the best supporting actress not the one carrying the main plotline. When I’m thrust into the spotlight it’s unsettling. I feel like I get plenty of “spotlight” at work so I don’t need it at home too. I’m perfectly happy listening to my friends and co-workers dramas.

Okay, that was a bit “inside” but stuff’s just rattling around in my head today. Moving on, B, Chunk and Mark having their fun riding me about Ace Young. That’s fine but trust me, their time will come and I will be right there! I’m sorry the man is dazzling.

I’m really excited about meeting all the Mom’s on the cruise tomorrow. I think it will be a blast and a half. By the way, Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers. God Bless you and keep you.  Piggybacking that, cherish your Mom. During the ladies room one of the callers opened up about the fact that her Mom is dying of cancer and reminded us how precious mother’s are and that we should cherish everyday with them. I love my mother with everything I have and cherish her more and more as I get older.  I want to say, if you are feuding with your Mom use this weekend to be the bigger person and patch things up. Even if things don’t work out, you’ll have the piece of mind that you tried.

Allright.  I’m going to meet a friend for lunch. I always feel lucky when I eat pie so there will be a big ol’ slice for me today. Al’s coming in and I get to go to the Giants game…all in all…yea-me!  Hope your day is shaping up to be even better!

It has been a rough week for me dealing with this Mariah’s married to Nick Cannon  story and now even more disturbing news.Mariah has “Mrs.Cannon” tattooed on her @$#…..This is very troubling, in fact it has me more concerned than the economy. LOL

Maria and I are doing our blogs before we head out to our office party in Fremont. It is a race to the finish. Greg Behrendt (author of the book “He’s not that into you”) always has great incite into relationships. Today’s advice? Keep your shiznet to yourself on the first date. Nobody wants to hear your life story the very first time out. I had a date open up her purse full of “herbal” remedies on our first date (and last) She was a little LOCA!

That’s where I’m residing right now thanks to some unforseen events. I’m not complaining because things could always be worse. It’s just that I’m a person that likes to tread the midddle ground. You know, the path of least resisitence. This year seems to be a “growing pains” year for me though. Lots of change and upheaval.  I know, the one constant in life is change but it doesn’t mean I have to like it.

The funny thing is, I have no problem grabbing my superhero cape and boots and flying into the unknown to help someone else but when it’s just me I’m a coward.  The very hint of change can send me cowering to the couch. Even if it’s something good. As a friend of mine once said ( although I don’t think he was the first one to say it) “It’s the devil you know versus the devil you don’t know”. I suppose because even if something is bad and you get used to it the idea of change its scary because you think, gosh what if this makes it worse? At least I do. I need to train myself to think…what if this makes it better or at least different. It’s times like these I think “I know what I’m doing but what am I supposed to be doing?” I just have to keep living I suppose and the answer will be revealed. Hope it’s a good one.

 Yes, Ladies and Gentleman, try as I might, I could not resist the considerable charms of Ace Young. All I can say is I didn’t go down without a fight.  Cool, calm, collected chick that I strive to be- the one thing, the one thing that will take me down everytime is a hot guy. It’s my Kryptonite!  I can give a speech in front of two or two thousand  strangers without a drop of sweat. I’ve lead interventions with close friends that pushed them to rehab (and if you’ve done it you know that’s a hard conversation), I could go on with my daring exploits the point is I can do all these things yet throw a hot guy in my path and my brain goes smooth.  All the confidence and cleverness goes out the window and all of a sudden I’m 12 again.  The super-quiet pigeon-toed girl, fighting not to fidget and trying not be noticed. Because if the cute guy says something to me I’ll have to say something back then he’ll know I’m a dork.

Now mind you the next time I see any age close to 12 it will have a 1 in front of it.  I have interviewed countless celebrities and dignitaries from Grammy and Oscar winners to Superbowl studs. Some have been hella-cool, most are very professional and honestly I can only name one guy to this day I would like to punch out. However, famous or not the only person to jam me up is a really good-looking guy and Ace Young is one of those guys.

I think most of the population falls into the bell curve of attractiveness but some particularly blessed people are off the charts. No matter whether your male or female you have to stare at that other human being because they are so beautiful that it makes you speechless for a minute. Combine that with them being a really nice person and well I don’t know about you, but it makes things impossible for me.

However, I think people that have that type of beauty are well aware of it. They’ve been getting stared at and complimented for a long time. Along the way they decide to use their beauty for good or evil or a combination of both. Anyway Ace Young is so adorable you want to eat him with a spoon and take a nap after so you can sleep on the goodness. He knows it, in a good way. He knows he takes your breath away so he smiles until you get it back. He also engages and indulges you so you feel worthy of the attention.  He leaves you in a haze. You’re dazzled by his looks, his goodness and his charm but with all that he is a genuine person. When he leaves you feel warm and fuzzy and then the haze wears off and you become the dork you think you are or maybe your’re just human. Either way, I’m going to give myself a break. That shy ,corny 12-year old is part of the woman I am today. My quick wit and sharp tongue will be back tomorrow without fail unless there’s another Ace in the deck.

Alright I’m not one to say “I told you so”(well maybe I am..LOL) But both Maria and Chunk did a double take when I told them I had booked Ace Young from season Five of American Idol (Daughtry,Hicks,Yamin). They were like ”what’s he going to do?”..”You must doing a favor” Ahh NO! My boy in Beantown told me that Ace would rock our world and “you should book him for the show (thank you Big Daddy!) Ace not only rocked this morning but I have never seen Maria so “excited” LOL. So here it goes…. “I told you so”!!!  And to be fair, even a broken clock is right twice a day! LOL

Fugly is fugly … even in the dirty south!

The old clich’e “You play, you pay” fits for today. Cinco de Mayo at Pedro’s was off the hook. The morning was just off..LOL Oh, it’s not as bad as I make it out to be. LOL

Maria and I are at a point in the show were we are trying to shake things up for you. With that comes taking chances. Like this morning where we got out of our comfort zone and changed up our “standard” American Idol interview with Brooke White (check podcast) The result wasn’t exactly a homerun. Bad interviews, less than up to par features, etc used to upset me and I would dwell on it all day. Now I have learned that we could only learn from our mistakes and not repeat them. It is very hard for me but I tend to dwell on the negative. We could have had a great show and still I would nick pick a certain feature. Like I’m doing right now..LOL..I’ll be ok, the bright side to our Brooke White interview is that it happened at 6:30 and you were probably asleep..LOL The rest of the show was slammin!

I will come out and say that I was a bit concerned with the “perception” of Perez Hilton. “he is high maintenance” blah..blah…blah. After two days I’m ecstatic about having him on at 6 and 8 a.m. for his gossip. (check podcast) Please tell a friend and spread the word about him!!

First of all, thanks to everyone who came out to Pedro’s yesterday for J. Love’s Cinco de Mayo broadcast. It was a blast! I loved doing the Pm Edition of the Hollywood Dirt in front of a live audience. I got to meet some great people and I appreciate all the love. BTW: In the midst of all the adult beverages we did eat and their food is yummy!
