BIOGRAPHY: Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson was born in 1975 and grew up in Hacienda Heights, California. At the age of eight she began her career on the television show “Kids Incorporated”. In 1990 Ferguson, along with Stefanie Ridel and fellow Kids Incorporated alum Renee Ilene Sandstrom, formed Wild Orchid, a teen pop group that released a pair of albums in the late ‘90s. When the group split, after the record label declined to release their third album, Fergie spent time as a dance floor regular and backup singer at various Los Angeles venues. It was at that time that she met will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. She was invited to join the band in the recording studio and then replaced background singer Kim Hill, in 2000. The band had enjoyed underground success and Ferguson’s addition helped them quickly grow into mainstream popularity with hits like “Shut Up”, “Let’s Get It Started” and “My Humps”. After two successful Black Eyed Peas albums, Ferguson released a solo CD in September 2006 called the Dutchess.
